It is the mission of the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office to safeguard the lives and property of the people we serve, to reduce the incidence of fear and crime, and to enhance public safety while working with the diverse communities to improve their quality of life. We will do so by an open partnership with our citizens; open communication and accountability will make this mission successful.

Sheriff John Boyd and Chief Deputy Ron Heeg are pictured with newly elected Porter County Sheriff Dave Reynolds and Chief Deputy Jeff Biggs and their January 16 swearing-in ceremony. Sheriff Boyd and Chief Deputy Heeg were pleased to be included in the Porter County ceremony as the two agencies and administrations enjoy a very strong working relationship. The La Porte County Sheriff’s Office congratulates Sheriff Reynolds and his entire department.

The La Porte County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce that they will host the 50th annual Children’s Christmas Show on Saturday, December 20 at the La Porte High School auditorium. The doors will open at 8:30 am and the show will begin promptly at 9 am. The program will feature a magic show performed by magician Matt Kalita and deserving children from throughout La Porte County will meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and have an opportunity to sit on his lap and each will receive a gift and candy. In addition, a balloon artist will be on hand and will craft balloons for the children who are in attendance.
