Yes. Send an email to the staff at the La Porte County Jail that your number be added to the private caller list. Once verified and added, any phone calls made by an inmate using the Securus phone system will not be recorded.

Yes. Attorneys can register for a private account at Securus using their Bar card. Once set up as an Attorney visitor, you may schedule visits that will not be recorded.

Bond or bail money is accepted between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm at the County Clerk’s Office. Bonds are taken 24/7 at the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office lobby. To find out the amount of the bail you may call 219.326.7700 and choose option 1 or visit the Inmate Information Website.

To put money on an inmate's commissary account, you may visit our kiosk in the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office lobby. The lobby kiosk accepts cash and credit/debit cards. Deposits can also be made online at Tiger Commissary. The jail does not accept cash at the counter.
You may also mail a cashier’s check or money order directly to the inmate.

We also accept stimulus checks for deposit.
Under no circumstances will we accept payroll checks, personal checks, or Social Security checks.

Marriages will be allowed, but will go through a screening process. The incarcerated individual must request a Marriage Approval Form from Administration. It will then be reviewed and approved or denied by the Jail Commander.

Please contact Jail Medical at 219.326.7700 ext. 2537. If there is no answer or they feel it’s urgent, they can be dropped off at any time to the Front Desk or Main Control. We never accept narcotics or pain medicine.

If you need something notarized by an inmate, you may contact the Front Desk Clerk at ext. 2324 to set up an appointment. We DO NOT provide Power of Attorney paperwork. You will obtain the documents to be notarized and make arrangements to have them signed in the presence of a notary at the facility. DO NOT fill out the paperwork prior to arrival. The inmate MUST be informed BY YOU of the situation and that their notarized signature is required.

Web Commissary Orders must be placed by 6:00 am every Friday to ensure delivery for the following week.
